Krita Studio is a powerful digital painting application designed for professional artists, VFX studios, and game developers. Program features and functions

• Interface and Canvas: Krita has a user-friendly interface. In the settings menu, the user can choose the color theme, toolbars and Dockers of their choice, and edit the keyboard shortcuts. The user can save a set of Dockers as a Workspace and switch between them. The Canvas can be easily rotated and mirrored. The OpenGL-based Canvas supports High-bit Depth monitors. A large set of options is available to create a distraction-free painting mode with only the Canvas displayed.
• Wrap-around Mode and Seamless Textures: Creating seamless textures and patterns is now easy. Just press the ‘W’ key while drawing to activate Wrap-around mode. The image creates references along the X and Y axes. As you continue drawing, all references are updated instantly. No more fiddly offsets to see how the image repeats. The user can even draw from the edge and the drawing will automatically start from the top. This is one of those features that you have to experience.
• Advanced Brush Engines: A Brush Engine is more than just a regular brush template with modified settings. Each Brush Engine has its own logic and behavior. Available engines include Pixel, Smudge, Duplicate, Filter, Hairy, Hatching, Texture, Chalk, Color Smudge, Curve, Deform, Dyna, Experiment (Alchemy), Grid, Particle, Sketch, and Spray Brushes. Brush settings can be saved and shared as Presets. A large number of Blending Modes are available. Blending Modes are organized by category, and user favorites are saved at the top of the list.
• Selection Tools: Krita offers many ways to select parts of the Canvas for editing. The user can select with shapes like Rectangle and Circle, paint their own Selection, have a Polygonal Selection, select by color or select with Bezier. The user can add to, remove or cut off their Selection. They can also create a Selection based on the contents of the Layer by right-clicking on the Layer and choosing “Select Opaque”. It is possible to create a Transparency Layer separately or add it to an existing Layer. This is a great tool for non-destructive changes.
• Symmetry Tools and Drawing Aids: Krita’s symmetry tools go far beyond basic mirroring. The user has complete control by specifying the number of axes required. They can change the Origin, Angle, and Smoothing parameters. The Mirror buttons on the X and Y axes are easily toggled in the top toolbar. Drawing aids such as Perspective Grids and shapes with Magnetic settings are also available.
• Filters: Filters can be applied directly to a layer, or as Filter Masks or Layers. The effect of a filter is previewed on the image itself. Special effects such as Wave, Oil Paint, and Emboss are available. Adjustments such as Levels, Brightness/Contrast, and HSV are also included. Additional tools that can be useful for creating Selections are also available, such as Color to Alpha and Color Transfer.
