FastFlix is a simple and user-friendly GUI for encoding videos. It preserves HDR10 metadata for x265, NVEncC HEVC, and VCEEncC HEVC, and will expand to AV1 libraries in the future when available. FastFlix requires FFmpeg (version 4.3 or higher) to handle the heavy encoding work, and can work with a variety of encoders.

FastFlix is available in two versions, an installer and a portable version, to meet the needs of all users. The program has a user-friendly GUI that includes all the settings options and tools needed to encode videos. There are few settings in the top menus, as all the necessary tools are mainly located in a tab-based layout.

Program features and functions

• Wide range of video formats supported: FastFlix supports a wide range of video formats, including MP4, MKV, MOV, M4V, AVI, DIVX, WebM, MPG, MP2, MPEG, OGG, MOV, M4P, FLV, and many more. HEVC and YUV videos are also among the compatible formats.
• Output Format Selection: Selecting the output format is possible via a simple drop-down menu in the main window. FastFlix can produce encoded videos in MKV, MP4, TS, MOV, AVI, MTS, M2TS, and M4V formats.
• Video Preview: Thanks to the built-in video player, the user can preview the clip frame by frame. The lower part of the window contains options for managing the output quality, audio streams, subtitles, covers, as well as additional raw commands that can be executed.
• Presets and Profiles: The available presets allow the user to choose between multiple options for playback quality, while the tuning options help apply different filters to the output. For HDR10 videos, FastFlix can copy HDR10 metadata using x265, NVEncC or VCEEncC as the encoder.
• Audio and subtitle management: Audio tracks, subtitles, and poster art can be exported along with the input clip. There are also advanced settings that include video editing options to help the user achieve high-quality playback.
• Editing tools: There’s an integrated equalizer to control brightness, contrast, and color saturation, as well as denoising capabilities. For ease of use, profiles can be created to save settings options.
• Extensive Control Over Parameters: FastFlix is a batch video encoding tool that offers its users extensive control over conversion parameters. Supporting a wide range of media file types, the program provides a frontend for FFmpeg and more, leverages console-based encoder capabilities, and offers a user-friendly GUI to manage and perform all video encoding tasks.
